Pod-O-Lab occupies two rooms on the ground floor of block E. The first is primarily a mechanical workshop, while the second is dedicated to electronics and 3D printing.
The lab is open to every club member by prior arrangement. Email the team at lab@pod.cvut.cz and read the operating rules before visiting.
Mechanical lab
In the mechanical workshop, you can build or repair almost anything. Equipment includes drill bits for wood and metal, taps, a socket set, an angle grinder, bit sets, crowbars, hammers, saws, and power drills.
A pillar drill, other power tools, files, sheet-metal shears, and compressor make larger jobs easier. Precision tools include marking equipment, a centre punch, and callipers. Cleaning supplies, brushes, rags, gloves, cable ties, adhesive tapes, and protective equipment are also available. Come and visit us; there is almost always a way to take something apart or build it back up.
Electrical lab
The second room is equipped for electronics work, with laboratory power supplies, an oscilloscope, signal generator, soldering iron, hot-air station, and other tools. A desktop computer connected to the club network provides the necessary software, including tools for recording data from instruments. We can also help with microcontroller programming. Whether you are building a simple circuit, a school project, or a thesis prototype, the lab provides a suitable workspace.
3D printing
The electronics workshop also contains a 3D-printing corner with three printers. A Prusa MK3S and an older dual-extruder Poseidon Duo use FDM technology. A Prusa SL1 resin printer is paired with a Prusa CW1 washing and curing station. Contact the team if you need to print a part or figure; for larger prints, please bring your own filament or resin.
